Restoration of Status

Restore lost temporary resident status within eligibility.

Overview

A clear, personalized path from assessment to decision.

If temporary status as a visitor, student, or worker has expired, restoration may be possible within 90 days of losing status. The application must resolve the original loss of status and satisfy the requirements of the status being restored; working or studying is not permitted while restoration is pending.

Who this is generally for

  • Application made within 90 days of losing temporary resident status
  • Continued eligibility for the status being restored
  • Payment of both the restoration and the underlying application fees
  • No breach that makes the applicant otherwise inadmissible
