Overview
A clear, personalized path from assessment to decision.
A Permanent Resident Travel Document lets a permanent resident outside Canada without a valid PR card return to the country. Applications are frequently accompanied by an examination of whether the residency obligation of 730 days in five years has been met, and humanitarian and compassionate considerations may be relevant when it has not.
Who this is generally for
- Valid permanent resident status that has not been formally revoked
- Compliance with the residency obligation, or grounds to retain status despite a shortfall
- Evidence of days present in Canada or of qualifying time abroad
